Hackathon

Allstate Northern Ireland are running a 24-hour hackathon. No prior experience is required, there will be training throughout the event, just bring your laptop and your friends!


Outline of Activity

It’s estimated that 1 in 6 Americans will experience a food related illness each year. In order to try and prevent this, the city of Chicago regularly inspects itsmany restaurants. The goal of the competition is to build a predictive model – usinghistorical data provided, to accurately predict the likelihood of an establishmentfailing an inspection.Food will be provided throughout the event. You'll get tomeet and work with the data scientist and data engineers from the D3 team atAllstate NI. Amazon vouchers for 1st (£1000) and 2nd (£500) place and spot prizes throughout the event.

Learning Outcomes

  • Introduction to predictive modelling and data science.
  • Training in predictive modelling in Python and R.
