This cross disciplinary project is open to expression of interest from medical, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, biomedical science, dietetics, pharmacy, social care & education students enrolled at UU.

Are you a student intending to work in the healthcare environment?

Are you interested in participating in an exciting new project hosted by the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre, Belfast City Hospital?

Looking for an opportunity to practically help patients and experience working with healthcare professionals to promote patient self healthcare management?

This cross disciplinary project is open to expression of interest from medical, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, biomedical science, dietetics, pharmacy, social care & education students enrolled at UU.

Assessment Details

Participants will work together with patients and the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) to promote education and health literacy amongst people with cystic fibrosis (CF) both at an individual patient level and group basis.

Possible activities can include:

- Complete a formal application

- Undergo relevant training with the Volunteer department of the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust

- Attend a Cystic Fibrosis Workshop with healthcare team members

- Undergo training on the use of Blackboard Collaborate and other relevant tools

Level of Commitment

The level of commitment can vary but you can see from the possible activities involved that you do need to be commited. You will learn a lot and the patients will really benefit from your support.
