UUSU Enterprise - Shark Tank Competition

Each student entrepreneur makes an application and if successful will go on to pitch to a panel of five 'sharks' which is made up of industry professionals.


Outline of Activity

Shark Tank is a competition for student Start up's. This is where the student must demonstrate a full understanding of their business and be able to answer specific questions related to their business idea. The student should be able to present confidently and discuss the entire business from concept to market place even if this is a future plan.

Learning Outcomes

This competition should give students a great opportunity to develop their presentation skills, their public speaking skills as well as their entrepreneurial skills. Students will also have a fantastic opportunity to network with important industry professionals as well as having the opportunity to gain valuable feedback on their business/product concept.

Level of Commitment

Students should dedicate at least 20 hours to this competition when taking into consideration the time invested to develop:

20 hours to include:
A presentation
Complete applications
Preparation to pitch to the panel of judges
In addition to this students have the sole responsibility for developing their business/ product
Doing research to be able to pitch a viable idea to the judges which demonstrates a dedication to their work as well as strong entrepreneurial skills.
