Graduate Resilience

This module focusses on developing personal resilience and emotional intelligence both of which are fundamental competencies for graduates entering the world of work.


Outline of Activity

Participating in a series of highly practical exercises students will develop their own strategies and techniques for coping with stressful situations and successfully managing transitions in work and life.

Learning Outcomes

*This activity is only available to students if it is delivered to your class*

Successful students will be able to:

1 Articulate the key aspects of personal resilience and how it relates to health,

relationships and personal performance.

2 Identify their level of emotional intelligence and personal resilience

3 Challenge their previous mind-sets and coping strategies.

4 Use appropriate techniques and tools for stress and self-management in the workplace

and other contexts.

Assessment Details

100% Coursework 0% Examination

Students will complete the following 3 artefacts for assessment:

* Provide photographic evidence of negative emotional responses to previous situations

along with new tactics or approaches to improve these (from 3 hour workshop)

* Upload personal results of emotional intelligence self-assessment online quiz

* By responding to a series of questions, students will submit a voice memo that reflects on their learning from the module.
