The Researcher Development Programme at Ulster is informed by and mapped to the Vitae Researcher Development Framework (2010), the UK Research Councils’ recognised approach to researcher development, which aims to develop world-class researchers and their career potential and build the UK higher education research base.

The RDF is structured around four broad domains: A: Knowledge and intellectual abilities; B: Personal effectiveness; C:Research governance and organisation; and D: Engagement, influence and impact

Domain C on Research governance and organisation includes the sub-domains: C1: Professional conduct, C2: Research management and C3: Finance, funding and resources. These workshops are all related to Domain C of the Researcher Development Framework.
