The University’s Doctoral College Board (DCB), a sub-committee of the Research and Impact Committee, is responsible for all aspects of postgraduate research study at the University.

The DCB reviews, advises and makes recommendations on the education and training of research students, procedures for admission, supervision, performance and examination of students, the range of research programmes on offer at Ulster, and any other matters that require review.

The DCB, on behalf of the Senate of the University, is also responsible for approving admission to research study, confirmation of registration status, appointment of supervisors, the nomination of boards of examiners, and recommendations in relation to the award of research degrees.  The DCB also advises on the allocation of studentships and similar awards for research study.

The Committee sits twice per annum and has representation from the research student body, senior management and academic staff across all faculties of the University.

Previous papers and minutes can be obtained by contacting the Doctoral College.
