This course will provide an overview of risk analysis and explain the key underlying concepts and principles which underpin this area of activity.

Summary

The objective of this short course is to provide an overview of risk analysis and explain the key underlying concepts and principles which underpin this area of activity. It will also illustrate the variety of hazards in the food supply, both chemical and biological. In the case of chemical hazards, to demonstrate that it is the chemical structure of a compound that is the determinant of potential toxicity, and not its origins whether man-made or natural.

Assessment

A multiple choice questionnaire will be offered to students as a tool for self-assessment of the acquired knowledge.

This course is self-paced and open for enrolment at any time, the start date is the earliest date that enrolments are permitted.
