This course provides participants with the necessary skills and understanding of what a successful bid entails. The course considers themes such as evaluating the appropriateness of potential tenders, essential management skills required and fulfilling relationship objectives.

The course is aimed at those pursuing a career in the hospitality and tourism industry where a core skill is the ability to develop persuasive, engaging and successful proposals for business projects.

The course is accredited by the Institute of Hospitality.

Assessment

100% Coursework - (1) Written bid document (70%) and (2) Oral presentation of the bid (30%).

Attendance

The course requires attendance for three individual consecutive days from 9.15am to 5.15pm in mid-March 2017. There are also three additional ‘Learning Set’ days to meet with tutors to develop assessment. One morning or afternoon attendance is required on one date in April 2017.

Professional recognition

The course is accredited by the Institute of Hospitality.

Entry requirements

Any undergraduate degree.

English Language Requirements

International applicants whose first language is not English must meet the minimum English entrance requirements of the University, which is a minimum acceptable score for the British Council IELTS of 6.0 (with no contributing band of less than 5.5) or equivalent.
