In this section
This short course is designed to refresh the fundamental concepts of marketing, building on this to develop an understanding and appreciation of marketing management including analysis, planning and control issues.
Marketing represents a key underpinning facilitating the activities of organisations globally. Marketing provides an organisation wide ethos, which helps nurture success by focusing on the customer. The aim of the course is to provide participants with an understanding and appreciation of the fundamental concepts and principles of marketing. In addition, it aims to develop understanding regarding the relevance of these concepts to successful performance within the organisation. In today’s competitive environment, marketing represents a key requirement for survival. As such the context and methods of marketing continue to change. This course should therefore equip participants, not only with understanding, but also the thirst to examine marketing theory and practice further.
The aims of the course are to:
- Recognise the role of marketing in management thinking and practice.
- Develop an understanding of the nature of markets in a dynamic, global, information-intensive environment.
- Understand fundamental concepts, processes and managerial frameworks of marketing.
- Develop competence in the application of tools and techniques for marketing analysis, planning, implementation and evaluation.

English Language Requirements
Applicants whose first language is not English must meet the minimum English entrance requirements of the University and will need to provide recent evidence of this (certified within the last two years).
Most of our courses require a minimum English level of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, with no band score under 5.5. Trinity ISE: Pass at level III also meets this requirement.
