In an increasingly global environment, this course seeks to develop participants' understanding of the socio-cultural, economic, legal and political variables which will impact on the international decision-making and planning processes of an organisation and influence international marketing mix strategies.

In this section
Given the importance of export-led growth, particularly in terms of a small peripheral economy such as Northern Ireland, this course examines exporting and broader forms of global marketing. The factors that facilitate and prohibit internationalisation will be examined, and firm level processes and decision-making will be considered within the context of the broader international marketing environment. The course covers a range of concepts, issues and practices that are relevant to the study of global marketing. Guest speakers will be used to provide a better understanding of practical issues involved in export activity.
The course is aimed at professionals across a range of industries who are involved in export activities within their organisation or who are interested in seeking out new export/international market opportunities for their business. The course is suitable for managers at various levels.

100% Coursework -a group assignment (75%) and an individual reflective piece (25%). The group assignment will involve background research into a potential new international market for a selected real life company. This analysis should include an evaluation of all relevant macro and micro environmental factors and their potential impact on the company wishing to enter that country market. The new market must be outside the company’s country of origin.
This course requires attendance on three consecutive days from 9.30am to 5pm on 7, 8 and 9 March 2018 and one further follow-up day in on 15 March 2018 (morning).
Normally, a degree in a relevant area e.g. business or social sciences but other degrees will also be considered.
English Language Requirements
International applicants whose first language is not English must meet the minimum English entrance requirements of the University, which is a minimum acceptable score for the British Council IELTS of 6.0 (with no contributing band of less than 5.5) or equivalent.
