This course provides a general introduction to the financial markets with specific reference to the derivatives market.

This short course, has been developed as a result of a collaboration between Ulster University Business School and Axiom Global Inc.

The field of derivatives documentation transcends the disciplines of both finance and law but is dominated by those with a legal background. This course provides a general introduction to the financial markets with specific reference to the derivatives market. It provides a solid basis for consideration of the ISDA (International Swaps & Derivatives Association) documentation which provides the underpinning for OTC (Over-the-Counter) derivative products.

The course is delivered on the University's Belfast Campus, on eight consecutive Thursday evenings from 6.15pm - 9.15pm. Dates for the next course are to be confirmed.

Attendance

This course requires weekly attendance on Thursdays from 6.15pm – 9.15pm for eight weeks. Dates for the next course are to be confirmed.

Entry requirements

Degree in Law or Accounting. Other related areas may be acceptable (please contact us for further information).

English Language Requirements

International applicants whose first language is not English must meet the minimum English entrance requirements of the University, which is a minimum acceptable score for the British Council IELTS of 6.0 (with no contributing band of less than 5.5) or equivalent.
