Ulster University regards External Examination as the key to assuring and enhancing quality in academic standards and the student experience.  The External Examiner Induction is an opportunity for you to familiarise yourself with the strategic approach to learning and teaching in Ulster University, with a particular focus on assessment and feedback.

This synchronous online webinar begins with an overview of Ulster University, the external examination role at Ulster and academic quality standards facilitated by the office of the PVC for Academic Quality and Student experience.

A detailed overview of how the student experience is managed and ultimately  presented at a board of examiners is facilitated by experienced course directors and discussion opportunities with the course director associated with the course(s) you are examining.

The workshop offers an opportunity for external examiners to familiarise themselves with expectations of and feel confident about their role and contribution and raise any questions they might have regarding the University’s procedures and arrangements.
