Activities I was involved in at Ulster to enhance my employability
Gaining a British Gymnastics qualification and putting it to use through Club GymFun was one of the most beneficial activities which I engaged in.
I am currently still coaching and learning at Club GymFun, I have been supported through my PGCE and in my role as Tutor, Assessor and Disability Awareness Tutor for British Gymnasts.
How placement enhanced my employability
Placement was a great opportunity for me to gain new experiences which has shaped the direction of my future. A wide variety of experiences enhances the opportunities for employment.
Top 3 most significant steps on my career path so far
- Becoming a Head Coach at Club GymFun has helped to develop many skills and and has supported me in opening my own gymnastics club.
- My experience in gymnastics resulted in my appointment as Tutor, Assessor and Disability Awareness Tutor for British Gymnastics.
- Choosing to complete a Special Educational Needs (SEN) placement during PGCE. I am now working towards a permanent position within a school for pupils with severe barriers to learning.
