Ulster University helped me achieve my current career success by...
continuously providing me with the support and guidance that I needed to balance both my sport and my studies. Ulster provided me with the skills, qualities and meaningful opportunities which allowed me to gain experience in the field of sport and education which enabled me to develop myself.
Activities I was involved in at Ulster to enhance my employability
Work within the Ulster Sports Outreach Unit - involved an extensive range of volunteering opportunities within sport and education throughout my undergraduate degree.
Through involvement with the USOU I also gained a number of valuable coaching qualifications as well as getting the chance to network and forge meaningful relationships with outside agencies such as the volunteering organisations 'Volunteer NOW' and 'We Volunteer'.
Placement within a secondary school during my undergraduate degree.
Coaching netball and self-defence in local primary schools.
How placement enhanced my employability
My placements helped to enhance my employability by allowing me to develop both personally and professionally. They enabled me to put the theory that I had learnt into practice as well as work alongside those in the profession to gain a greater insight into the craft of teaching.
