My Journey

  • Career Timeline

Activities I was involved in at Ulster to enhance my employability

My strength and conditioning placement was a great experience for me to learn and see what a career in the industry would be like.

The opportunity to undertake research studies and gain experience giving presentations has been invaluable for me moving forward.

    How placement enhanced my employability

Qualifications are brilliant to have on your CV but when you sit down for an interview you need much more than just qualifications. I was asked about times I have put the theory into practice and the challenges and experiences I have faced which my work experience helped with.

How study abroad enhanced my employability

I have not studied abroad but living abroad is brilliant- you learn about your field of study/work, the cultural experiences are amazing, it presents an opportunity to learn a new language, certain travel destinations are more accessible, you make friends from all over the world and you' re more rounded.

  • Career Timeline

Top 3 most significant steps on my career path so far

    1. Moving abroad to Kuwait and everything that goes with that professionally, culturally and socially.
    2. Deciding to leave Kuwait and move to Beijing to break into coach education which was a big career goal of mine.
    3. My biggest one may be yet to come as I aim to get into lecturing and have recently applied for a PhD in New Zealand.
