Contact management

Customer Contact Planning and Management

The Customer Contact Planning and Management suite of programmes provides a range of opportunities for part-time, on-line learning for those employed in the customer contact environment.

Participants can enrol at any of the five distinct award stages to provide the most flexible learning package for this unique vocational qualification designed for the industry.

A student can be enrolled on either a full three-year degree or one of a series of linked awards each with a duration of approximately six months, which can lead directly to the final qualification.

Creative Industries

Working closely with Creative Industry bodies we have designed and delivered a range of programmes within this rapidly expanding and changing sector.  In particular, we have worked closely with Arts & Business NI to develop Arts Council funded programmes tailored specifically to organisational need.   These have ranged from the long standing 'LINK' initiative which targeted new and aspiring managers to the 'Creating Futures' postgraduate provision aimed at senior leaders.

Working collaboratively with Irish Times Training, Arts Audiences and Audiences NI we created a bespoke Audience Development Programme which was delivered to organisations across the island of Ireland.

Alongside our accredited provision our Team has worked with a range of organisations and funders to provide support such as Business Mentoring.

The Business Institute is open and collaborative, so well placed to develop solutions that address individual and organisational need.  This is often achieved through partnership working.   To maximise the impact of our programmes supplement our core team with additional specialists drawn from across Ulster University as well as from our pool of trusted Associates.

Digital Ready Programme

A unique and innovative Leadership and Management programme for Leaders aware of the critical need to evolve their organisations, considering significant digital innovations within the arenas of cloud, data, analytics, security, mobile, social media and financial technologies. This is not a Technology programme it about understanding available and emerging technologies and how they can be used to make your business more competitive. It will therefore support your understanding of the technologies; support you to develop technology enabled business strategy and Lead the way forward.

Enterprise

The Business Institute has considerable experience in the development and delivery of services to support business start-ups and business growth. In addition to our core team we call upon our bank of trusted Associate Specialist Mentors drawn from the wider University and Industry.

We don't come with a one size fits all solution preferring to start by understanding what you need and then developing a solution that meets that need.  Recent programmes have included business start-up support for particular groups such as female entrepreneurs as well as programmes focused on sectors such as Construction and Engineering. We know the local market; are international in outlook and can act as a gateway to the very considerable supports available throughout the wider University.

Within Ulster University we are working across all faculties in a programme of support to encourage Ulster University students to start their own business.

The Business Institute has an impressive track record of working alongside the Financial Services industry through the development and delivery of tailored accredited programmes at all levels up to and including our internationally regarded MSc Executive Leadership.

In addition, we have a proud history of working alongside financial services companies that are rightly proud of their in-organisation training and development providing enhancements and, where appropriate, providing accreditation for their existing provision.

Food & Agri

Local Government

The Business Institute is working closely with Local Government at a time of unprecedented change. The transfer of powers brings new responsibilities. Current programmes include:

Civic Leadership and Community Planning

Our team includes people with considerable experience in organisational development, community planning and economic development. We work in close collaboration with NILGA and the Local Government Staff Commission.

SME Growth

The Business Institute team has a long and proud history of working with SMEs and funders to promote the growth of SMEs. Many of our team have experience of starting and growing businesses. In addition, we can call upon expertise from across the University and through our pool of trusted specialist Mentors.

Many SMEs have benefitted from engaging in our open programmes including the award winning Developing Managers Programme and MSc Executive Leadership programme.

The Business of Veterinary Practice is an innovative development programme for the veterinary sector.  The programme has been developed in partnership with MSD and Claire McNamee Consulting.

Short Courses

The Business Institute has an extended portfolio of programmes for continuing personal and professional development (CPPD), and offers short courses in a large number of subject areas.

These courses can be designed to meet your specific need; are flexible in terms of both design and delivery and can be delivered with or without University accreditation.

If you decide on accreditation your people may be enrolled to take individual, already approved, modules from award-bearing courses on a stand-alone basis. In addition short courses which are assessed may be allocated credit points in accordance with the University's modular and credit structures.
