Ulster University Jazz Band (UUJB) is made up of undergraduate and postgraduate students studying at Ulster University. Led by Dr Linley Hamilton and conducted by Lewis Hanlon, the ensemble rehearse every Thursday in the Foyle Arts Building, Magee.

Performances have included supporting Adam Nussbaum and Mark Egan at the City of Derry Jazz & Big Band Festival in May 2019. More recently, the ensemble performed at ‘The Spook Easy’ in the UUSU Bunker Cafe.

UUJB perform a variety of Jazz styles; but for this gig they will perform ‘The Nightfly’, the celebrated 1980’s album by Donald Fagen from Steely Dan. Taking the part of Donald is our very own Jazz vocalist, Euan Watson.
