FOYLE ARTS Recital Room

A decade has passed since Anthony Toner’s song 'Sailortown' first graced the airwaves, and in that time it has become one of Northern Ireland’s most-requested radio songs and a concert favourite. Anthony has followed that early success with a string of memorable albums, including favourites like 'The Road to Fivemiletown', 'East of Louise' and 'Well Well Well', and remains a much-loved live performer, admired as much for his storytelling ability as his fingerstyle guitar technique and insightful songwriting.  He’s currently working on Our Lady of the Wind and Rain - his ninth album of original material, and hatching plans for an extensive run of tour dates in the first half of 2019.

Anthony has been described as ‘James Taylor meets John Prine in a second hand book shop’, and that about captures his style – literate, warm, insightful and connected. For this special concert, he will be joined by longtime collaborator John McCullough, a dazzling pianist with a gift for empathetic accompaniment who is much in demand for sessions and live concerts throughout Ireland and beyond.
