Born in Bar Harbor, Maine, Jude Johnstone began writing songs from eight years old and was ‘discovered’ at 18 by Bruce Springsteen’s saxophonist, Clarence Clemons.

She has been covered by Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris, Bette Midler, Johnny Cash, Stevie Nicks, and Trisha Yearwood, including a #1 song for Yearwood’s debut album, “The Woman Before Me” which earned her a BMI award. She also penned the title track to Johnny Cash’s 1997 Grammy winning album “Unchained”.

The live stage is where Jude comes into her own; seated at her piano, she delivers those songs, the stories behind them, and more, wrapped in her gentle nature, wry humour and quick wit.
