Leading Barrister Set for Ulster Visit
Daniel Greenberg, who was Parliamentary Counsel (UK) from 1991-2010, will deliver a lecture on statutory interpretation to undergraduate students from the School of Law on Thursday.
An eminent barrister specialising in legislation, Mr Greenberg is a member of the Parliamentary team at Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP, where he advises on statutory interpretation, the legislative process and machinery of government.
He is editor of ‘Craies on Legislation’, Stroud’s Judicial Dictionary and Jowitt’s Dictionary of English Law. He is also the General Editor of Annotated Statutes, Westlaw UK.
His most recent book about the legislative process, ‘Laying Down the Law’, was published in May 2011.
Mr Greenberg is an associate research fellow of the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies at the University of London, a consultant to the Public Law team of the Practical Law Company and a consultant to the Oxford English Dictionary.
