Law School Student Fund

Adding value to our students’ academic experience - Padraig's story

The Law School Student Fund is designed to encourage and reward excellence, provide much needed financial assistance and to support activities which add real value to students overall academic experience.

The Fund offers an innovative and exciting way for our graduates and friends of the School of Law to give something back. Your gift will make a difference to the next generation of students at your School of Law.

The Fund will award:

  • The Education Bursary – to help support students experiencing significant financial hardship.
  • The Skills Award – to provide students with the necessary financial support to take up opportunities to develop their skills, for example client counselling, mooting, internships or attending conferences.
  • International Student Award – to provide a tuition bursary to a foreign student of exceptional merit on a postgraduate course.

Padraig Quinn

LLB Law with Politics

With thanks to the School of Law Student Fund, Padraig Quinn was able to attend the City Law Live Conference in London, during the second year of his LLB course. Entry to the conference is extremely competitive, and this is the first time an Ulster student has gained a place.

"The City Law Live Conference offered the opportunity to engage directly with some of the leading commercial law firms in London, who offered clear practical advice on how to successfully navigate the varied application processes.  The event was centralised principally on networking and I believe I am now in a better position to apply for summer internships and hopefully secure a training contract.  I have no doubt that this will have a significant impact on my future career prospects."
