The Academic Office contributes to the formulation and development of the University's academic policy through its support of the Academic Standards and Quality Enhancement Committee (ASQEC) of Senate. (In 2016/17 it was serviced by the Quality Management and Audit Unit (now Quality Enhancement.)
The ASQEC currently has two sub-committees, the Collaborative Partnerships Forum, which is supported by Quality Enhancement.
The Academic Office services the Academic Planning Advisory Group which advises on whether new course proposals should proceed to planning and evaluation.
The Learning and Teaching Committee was previously supported by the Academic Office and is now supported by Quality Enhancement.
