Heather   Ritchie
Dr Heather Ritchie has recently moved to Dungiven, but is originally from Comber. In 2009 she took up a post as a Lecturer in Spatial Planning at Ulster University's School of the Built Environment. She currently teaches across the Planning and Property Development (MSci PPD) undergraduate programme and the PGDip/MSc Marine Spatial Planning postgraduate programme and supervises PhD students. Her teaching is mostly focused on planning law and regulation, marine spatial planning, and environmental and sustainability issues. Prior to joining Ulster, she undertook an MSc in Environmental Planning and then completed her PhD on Marine Spatial Planning and Stakeholder Engagement, both at Queen's University Belfast. She worked as a Legal Executive in Residential Conveyancing in Worthingtons Solicitors for a year and a half after graduating from the University of Dundee with LLB (Hons) in English Law. Heather is involved with Environmental, Planning Lawyers Association Northern Ireland (EPLANI); she is a member of the Irish Sea Maritime Forum, the MSP Research Network and acts as an Expert Advisory group for the Celtic Sea Partnership.
