Last year's annual lecture
Last year's annual lecture was successful and featured a presentation by Colin Breen entitled "From Antrim to Zanzibar, heritage research at Ulster University.
Dr Colin Breen is a reader in the School of Environmental Sciences and has worked extensively across Europe, the Middle East and Africa and also serves as an advisor to a number of governments and universities across these regions.
The University has a strong profile in heritage and archeological research, the lecture highlighted the relevance of this using a number of case studies including past climate change, early nation-building in Ireland and Scotland and the process of colonialism across Africa. The key issues of identity and sustainability underpin much of this research.
