The role of the Convocation is to provide a formal channel through which its members may communicate their views and opinions and support the work of Ulster University and safeguard the good reputation of the University.
The Convocation also acts as a forum for discussion and debate as well as organising events and sponsoring awards and prizes.
Members
The Convocation is made up of:
- graduates
- academic and academic related staff
- senior officers of the University
- the Chancellor and Pro-Chancellors.
Disciplinary action
Disciplinary action may be taken by the Convocation Executive Committee if it believes that an Executive Member has acted deliberately and in a manner inimical to the interests of Convocation and/or Ulster University.
If Convocation agrees to take disciplinary action in the future, as an interim measure, it shall use the University's Ordinance XXXVIII after discussion with Ulster University.
