Who we are

Ulster Educational Partnerships Ltd (UEP Ltd) is a wholly owned subsidiary company of the University of Ulster. UEP, established to develop, secure and manage education and training contracts across all of the University of Ulster's academic areas and professional disciplines, evolved from a predecessor company UU Health Ltd which concentrated its activities mainly in the field of healthcare. It works in partnership with academic colleagues to identify, develop and secure business and contract opportunities for education and training, with individuals, companies, governments and public and private sector organisations, both nationally and internationally across all academic disciplines.

In partnering with UEP and the University of Ulster you will be assisted to transcend your education and training barriers. Together our educational partnership will identify, develop and deliver innovative, bespoke education and training solutions that will meet your requirements.

Our Aims

  • Harness Ulster's academic and business expertise to deliver tailor made and sustainable education and training solutions that reflect the standards and quality inherent in Ulster's existing provision;
  • Enhance its regional, national and international business through the procurement of new business opportunities and educational contracts across Ulster's academic disciplines and professional activities, with particular emphasis on areas where the University is an internationally recognised leader.
  • Be proactive in exploring opportunities for entrepreneurial teaching and learning activities.

Core Business Activities

Regional

The Company is currently contracted by the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety (DHSSPS) in Northern Ireland to provide pre-registration education and training for nursing students across its campuses to meet the needs of the health service. A suite of pre-registration training for students in the allied health professions (AHPs) is also provided in professional areas such as Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Radiography and Speech and Language Therapy.

DHSSPS also commission post-registration and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes in a wide range of specialist nursing areas including, Community and Specialist Practice. The commissioning mode varies between a full-time and part-time basis. Post-registration programmes are also commissioned for AHPs students, on a full-time and part-time basis, across a range of disciplines.

International

Ulster Educational Partnerships holds a significant contract with a prestigious company in the Middle East to provide a BSc (Hons) Degree programme in Nursing and a range of CPD activities in healthcare.

Company Staff

Ms Celia Currie, the Chief Executive Officer, leads the Company while Mrs Jackie Simpson, in her role as Head of Business, manages the Company's operations.
