Dr Mark Bailey
Overview
Dr Mark Bailey is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at Ulster University.
He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and teaches a variety of modules in applied microeconomics, business strategy, and the history of economic thought.
Mark studied economics at Coventry University, where he got his BA and PhD, and taught there until 2000, when he joined Ulster University.
His research interests are in applied business economics (applying tools of economic and microeconometric analysis to explain market behaviour in markets such as labour, education, health and energy) and historical business economics (primarily the economic rationale of regulation in 19th-century Britain, particularly railway regulation).
