Introduction

The University of Ulster has an enviable record in University Golf.  The Sports Development Unit is keen to enhance that reputation by providing increased opportunities for golfers at all standards.

The University of Ulster Golf Scholarship Programme supported by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club, St. Andrews and by the GUI (Ulster Branch) enables the University of Ulster to offer a wide range of services and high level competition to student golfers on the programme.

Who Can Apply?

Full time registered students of the University of Ulster are eligible to apply for inclusion on the Golf Scholarship Programme.  Any person who has received a conditional or firm offer of a place at the University of Ulster may also apply.  Normally applicants will be low handicapped players. 

What Do Golf Scholarship Recipients Receive?

There is a tiered support programme for Golf Scholars which includes the following;

• Musclo-skeletal Screening
• Strength and Conditioning
• Physiotherapy and other clinic services
• Membership of Royal Portrush GC and Galgorm Castle GC (if desired)
• Professional Golf Coaching
• Golf Seminar Services and Coaching/Playing at the K Club
• Competition Expenses for Identified European, UK and Irish Tournaments
• Golf Scholarship Merchandise
• Free Access to University of Ulster Sports Facilties
• Mentor Support

The level of support offered to each scholar will be made known to successful applicants via their Mentor following completion of the assessment process.
