Ulster Students Build Virtual Bridge Via Videoconference Links

Students from the University have participated in the 7th Megaconference (The Worldwide Videoconference over
Advanced Networks) - Building Bridges to the World: Preparing Tomorrow's Teachers to become Globally Competent. The intercontinental event involved a group of MA Peace and Conflict students drawn from Canada, Colombia, N. Ireland, Sweden and the US engaging in a joint video-linked presentation with students in Cerritos College California.

The presentation was hosted via the University's videoconferencing system and was witnessed across the globe. Noel Wilson, Assistant Director (IT User Services) who was present at one of the conference's "roll call" sessions
said " I was impressed with the many far-flung locations that participated. Debbie Mitchell, one of my technical support staff, was instrumental in establishing the link and her efforts were acknowledged by the conference organisers.”
