IT User Services
Graphic Design

The graphic designers and photographer at Jordanstown, Coleraine and Magee campuses provide a specialised in-house design service that is available to all faculties and departments throughout the University. A wide range of services are offered, including graphics for teaching and learning resources and publicity material for courses and conferences.

International Office Handbook
This is the cover design of a Handbook that was designed for use by International Students studying at the University of Ulster. Other publicity material designed for the International Office to promote international students to study at the
University of Ulster include Pop-up stands, Brochures and PowerPoint Presentations.

“The International Office has used the graphic and design services offered through IT User Services for a range of publicity purposes such as brochures, pop-up stands, and PowerPoint presentations. Staff were always open to our ideas and were able to develop them in a creative way. The service that is provided is extremely cost effective and efficient.  We would highly recommend these services to all departments within the University”.
Claire Kane, Business Manager, International Office

“Tutoring in Schools” Folder
The folder was designed as part of a ‘package’ of publicity materials including leaflets, poster and display stand to promote the ‘Tutoring in Schools’ programme. This involves students providing a very useful service tutoring in schools while gaining valuable teaching experience.

“ITUS graphic design service designed all my publications and the display stand for the Tutoring in Schools programme, which I co-ordinate. They also designed the logo and helped me to 'brand' the programme in a very attractive way which appealed to students.  I will continue to use their valuable services in the future”.
Mrs Elaine Wilson, Student Recruitment Officer, Department of Access and Educational Partnerships

Faculty of Engineering folder
The brief was to create a contemporary and distinctive design reflecting the wide spectrum of programmes offered by the Faculty. The folder is one of a range of publicity materials produced for the Faculty including brochures,
posters and display stands.

“Without the creative designs that Rosemary has produced for the Faculty of Engineering over the last five years, we would never have been able to achieve the identity that we have established, and all within a modest budget. Individual projects are always undertaken in a most professional manner and the results are always stylish and contemporary. Support is provided from writing the brief right through to printing. The Faculty of Engineering has
benefited so much from this outstanding in-house design service”.

Mrs Avril Fox, Marketing and Business Development Assistant, Faculty of Engineering

Sample of glazed tile
About 150 digital photos were taken of various glaze samples for educational package.

“The glaze software is an educational programme developed in the University of Ulster which will be distributed to secondary and tertiary centres of education and to practitioners in ceramics in Northern Ireland. The Photography unit in IT services has provided invaluable help in photographing digital images for inclusion into this project. Further liaison with the photography unit will develop the software further in the next year.”

Clive Fiddis, Lecturer, School of Art and Design
