Information Services Newsletter As part of its programme to extend access to electronic resources, especially off-campus and to distance learners, the Library has taken out a three-year subscription to 180 full-text electronic books from the Taylor and Francis group. Over 4000 titles are potentially available, in blocks of 180. Access is via an Athens username. As well as being accessible from the Library Catalogue as described below, users can also browse the subscribed titles at http://ulster.etailer.dpsl.net/home/html/index.asp Over the next few weeks, the Taylor & Francis e-books will be integrated into the library catalogue. The e-book titles will be searchable by title, keyword, author/title just like their print counterpart. An e-book will be identifiable by a ‘connect’ icon that will directly access it. In order to facilitate proper display of information on the catalogue, a new site ‘E-Library’ has had to be created. This is not a physical site but rather identifies that the material is available remotely from any location via the Internet. Books are made available to individual readers for 2-hour periods and may be reserved if already in use. If you have any further queries regarding e-books and the catalogue please contact Annette Linton at ext. 66395. More general queries regarding the service may be made to Patrick Teskey at pd.teskey@ulster.ac.uk , who will also welcome feedback on the value of this new service. Annette Linton & Patrick Teskey
