Business and Management -Marketing Sources Update
Keynote and Mintel Market Reports
There has been a significant improvement in the range of full-text market
reports online which are available to our library users. Due to
enhancements to the service provided by the Keynote publishers we now have
access to over 680 individual reports covering a wide range of UK market
sectors. For the first time, the Keynote service includes access to the
Market Assessment reports providing much more in-depth analysis, including
primary research, across a broad range of industries. In addition to our
online access, the Library continues to maintain a 3-year archive of the
printed standard reports in the Jordanstown LRC. Complementing the Keynote
series, we have also recently seen an expansion of consumer market report
titles made available through our Mintel service. We now have access to
over 500 individual titles covering the UK and Irish market sectors.
Included in the collection is an extensive range of reports on the food
and drink industry as well as the travel and tourism sector. Both the
Keynote and the Mintel databases may be accessed from the Library’s web
pages using your Athens password. Northern
Ireland Neighbourhood Information Service (NINIS) database
The Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency has released a revised
version of the Neighbourhood Statistics website. The new website provides
free access to a wealth of local statistical information at Electoral
Ward, Local Government District and Parliamentary Constituency levels. In
addition, information from the 2001 Census is available at the smaller
Census Output Area level which allows users to combine survey census data
with other statistical data held by Central Government. Users may, for
example, obtain an area profile based on a postcode or by selecting a
particular area to view. Aggregate statistical information currently
available includes data on education, healthcare, commerce, domestic
property, the labour market and farm census. The website may be accessed
at: http://www.ninis.nisra.gov.uk/ Gerard
