Information Services Newsletter As part of the TalisList project, the Library is investigating the feasibility of establishing a digital archive of copyright cleared journal articles and book extracts. To facilitate this process the Library has taken out a trial subscription with HERON, a national service for copyright clearance, digitisation and electronic delivery of learning material. Initial investigations will focus on providing electronic access to selected journal articles required for the distance learning course, MSc Biomedical Science. Close integration of TalisList with the University’s virtual learning environment, WebCT, and the Library catalogue will promote effective use and management of our distributed learning resources. Moreover, it will further improve the liaison between library and academic staff and contribute to the e-learning activities of the institution, in support of both traditional courses and distance learners.
