Noel Wilson receives Distinguished Learning Support Fellowship Award

At the Summer Graduations this year, Mr Noel Wilson, Assistant Director of IT User Services received one of the first two Distinguished Learning Support Fellowship awards.

Launched in 2004, the awards “recognise and celebrate the excellence in teaching by recognising individuals who are outstanding as facilitators and/or promoters of learning”. Mr Wilson received a £2,000 grant to support continuing professional development within ISD.

In presenting the award to Mr Wilson, the University recognised his contribution to the development and implementation of Information and Media Technology in tertiary education throughout his career with the University of Ulster and its predecessor institutions. Noel has been a member of staff at Jordanstown since the early 1970s (with only an 11 month break in the Northern Ireland Civil Service). Throughout his career, he has been active in supporting both staff and placement students in developing their knowledge of IT and statistics. Noel has also represented the University through his involvement with national bodies such as UCISA (of which he is a member of the Executive).

All at ISD warmly congratulate Noel on his success!
