Periodicals Contents Index Full Text (soon to have a
name change to Periodicals Archive Online)
The Library has recently purchased permanent electronic access to
Periodicals Content Index Full Text, Collections 1
and 2. This provides access to a full text archive of over two hundred
journal titles, journals are included from their first issue to their last
or 1995, whichever is earliest.
This service will be of enormous benefit to undergraduates, staff and
researchers in the Faculty of Arts. A wide range of subjects is covered in
the database and key titles such as French Historical Studies, History
Today, Yearbook of English Studies and the Edinburgh Review are covered.
For the first time, users in the Faculty of Arts will be able to search
electronically across a full-text archive of journals
previously only available to Library users in print format. PCI Full Text
supports searching in a number of ways, for example by keyword, article
title, author and journal title. Articles can be emailed or printed by the
user. PCI Full Text (which requires an Athens username and password) is
available on the A-Z list of databases at:
http://library.ulster.ac.uk/electronic/
ARTbibliographies Modern
The Library has replaced the print version of Artbibliographies Modern with
electronic access to the service. This database covers the years 1974
onwards and provides abstracts of journal articles, exhibition catalogues,
PhDs and books in the field of modern and contemporary art. The database can
be accessed from the A-Z list of Databases and will require an Athens
username and password. As an added bonus, electronic access to the service
makes it possible to cross-search Artbibliographies Modern with Design and
Applied Arts Index by using the Cambridge Scientific Abstracts Core
Collection database which is also available from the A-Z list of databases.
If you require further information or help to access any of the services
described above, contact details for members of the Arts Faculty Subject
Team are available at:
