Removal of Dial Back Service

The staff dial-back service will be removed at the end of December 2004. This service has reached the end of its serviceable life and cannot be supported after this date. ISD will not be replacing this service.

Users requiring remote access to the University will need to make alternative arrangements. It is recommended that staff set up an Internet connection via their local commercial Internet Service Provider (ISP) and, if required, reclaim any dial up charges via their departments.

ISD will contact existing users of the service over the next few months to advise them of the
options available.
