Database Sources for Hospitality and
Company Information

Hospitality, Leisure and Tourism

Over the summer, we have completely overhauled the range of hospitality and tourism databases available to staff and students.

• Hospitality and Tourism Index (HTI) covers scholarly research and 
  industry news relating to all areas of hospitality and tourism. Accessible using
  your Athens username and password, it combines the records of 3 former
  database collections: Cornell University’s ‘ Hospitality’ service, the University of
  Surrey’s ‘Articles in Hospitality and Tourism’ (AHT) and Purdue University’s
  Restaurant and Tourism Index (LRTI). Together, this new database contains
  more than 470,000 records from 500 journal titles, with coverage going back
  to the early 1960s.

• Leisuretourism.com is the online equivalent of the printed publication
  ‘ Leisure, Recreation and Tourism Abstracts’. It is a bibliographic database
  covering all aspects of research in the leisure, recreation, sport, tourism and
  cultural industries. It contains over 50,000 abstracts for journal articles, research
  papers, books and conferences from 1974 to the present. Links to some full-text
  articles are also available.

• The new HCIMA Education Membership Scheme provides access to the
   HCIMA Library and Information Service including their online library catalogue of
   references to individual books and videos as well as an archive of journal articles.

Perfect Analysis for Financial and Share Price Data

The Perfect Analysis database contains detailed financial and share price information for publicly-quoted companies listed on stock exchanges worldwide. Accessible using your Athens username and password, this database is updated daily and has highly sophisticated search features with a wide range of facilities for extracting and  reformatting data.
