Laboratories G096, G0100, B136/B137 at Coleraine, Computer Suite 2 and Library at Portrush and 1D03 at Jordanstown have been upgraded with new hardware this summer. The 55-seat LRC classroom at Magee can be booked through the Central Booking System. The software profile in the majority of our laboratories has moved to Windows 2000. Academics must note this upgrade, especially when considering new faculty-specific software. A desktop management programme, “Deepfreeze”, has been introduced which cleans the workstation of all downloads and files after each reboot. This facility dramatically reduces the number of unusable systems due to internet downloads.
