Information Services Newsletter Microsoft no longer supports the operating systems Windows 95, 98 and NT4. This means that security updates for newly discovered vulnerabilities are not provided (and these vulnerabilities are occuring at a high rate). It is likely that the risk of running systems using these obsolete versions of Windows will soon be too high to allow them to remain connected to the University network. If you are using one of these older operating systems, an upgrade to a more recent operating system such as Windows 2000 is recommended. If the equipment is unable to cope with such an upgrade, a new workstation should be considered. Brian Beesley
