MIS - Current Projects

MIS has several major project areas underway at present. In our Student Systems, we are developing web interfaces to staff and student applications and converting operational modules to a Graphical User Interface (GUI).

The roll-out of the web-based car Mileage Claim system has begun. This is a component of our refinement to the University's Financial Systems. We are also working on the development of web-based Prior Approval and Expense Claim systems. The implementation of an Integra 32-bit client and migration to Oracle 8i took place in late summer.

The department is working with Human Resources to implement a GUI for recruitment. We are also assisting in the development of an improved payslip format. Key areas of future work include systems developments for Physical Resources and an IT Asset Management system for the University.
