Teaching &
Learning Space
ICT Customer Services support
teaching and learning throughout the University by providing
fixed and portable ICT facilities in teaching and learning
spaces throughout the four campuses. Our record in provision
of facilities is exemplary - 100% of managed rooms above
90 square meters (floor area) currently have a fixed data projector and PC installed,
while over 50% of all teaching and learning space has fixed
facilities available to academic staff.
In addition to our fixed
provision, our portable loans service, and our commitment to
replacing and updating facilities as part of a rolling
lifecycle has enabled ICT Customer Services to meet our
annual targets for support and facilitation of teaching and
learning. In addition to our continued dedication to
facilitating teaching and learning, ICTCS also proactively
seeks to innovate in teaching and learning support, and this
is demonstrated by our involvement with Physical Resources
Standing Review Groups on Teaching & Learning space, and our
commitment to implementing new IT-rich facilities across the
University.
Some examples of our recent
innovations at the Belfast campus include the introduction
of dedicated PC and MAC laboratories, fixed presentational
facilities in teaching rooms and lecture theatres, PCs and
printing facilities in our postgraduate spaces and PA
equipment in both the new and old lecture theatres.
