Student Network
Campus Facilities
Workstations are connected to the student
network in three environments:
Student
Workstations
| Information Services is
responsible for over 20 IT laboratories (and over 1500 student PCs)
throughout the University. Student PCs are also available within the
new LRCs on each campus. Windows 7 is installed as the operating
system in LRC areas and
Windows XP is installed in all other student laboratories. A laboratory, if closed for security reasons,
can be opened by security staff on production of a valid Student ID
card. A letter from the student's lecturer requesting the use of the
facilities gives added assurance that access will be granted. For
further information regarding the facilities and software profiles
in each lab across campuses, please
