Provision of Individual Support for Subject Enquiries

Individual students who are completing assignments or coursework may contact the subject librarian supporting their Faculty if they need help in using the Library's resources effectively to source relevant information. Contact may be in person at the Library Information Desk, by email, phone or through use of the online enquiry form. Ideally, these one-to-one help sessions should be arranged in advance with the relevant subject librarian but help will always be given during Library opening hours by a member of the Library's subject team.

Individual subject assistance can be tailored to the specific information need of the student. This assistance may take the form of more in-depth help in exploiting our resources to locate specialist information or it may be as a refresher session for a student following attendance at one of the pre-arranged subject classes.

Individual assistance is available at all times that the library is open. During office hours, this assistance will be provided by a member of the faculty subject team. In the evening and at weekends, the assistance will be provided by a qualified librarian with general knowledge of all subject areas. Outside of office hours, students may also submit their queries by email or voicemail to any member of their subject team with an expectation that a response will be provided by the next working day.
