University of Ulster / eLearning / Your Questions
Is eLearning equivalent to campus based study?
The course objectives for eLearning programmes are the same as for the classroom version. The qualifications gained through eLearning are the same as those gained through studying face to face. It is only the way that the courses are delivered which is different. Most students who successfully complete distance learning courses say that these courses are just as difficult or more difficult than classroom-based ones. This is because eLearning students must invest the extra time and effort necessary to learn to use the variety of self-instructional media and print materials designed to deliver the course content.
Most distance learning courses are very structured and require a self-disciplined approach by the student.
