Collaborative Partnerships The University has agreed a new Collaborative Strategy for the period 2010/11 - 2014/15. A copy of the strategy is available here: University of Ulster Collaborative Strategy 2010/11 - 2014/15 The University operates the following models of course collaboration:
An articulation arrangement is one where the University formally recognises a qualification or study at another institution as meeting part of the requirements for a University course, thus enabling admission with advanced standing and exemption from part of the course.
A validated course is one which the University has approved a partner institution to develop and deliver to the partner's own students who are Associate Students of the University. It leads to an award of the University. A subject network is where the same course is validated to be offered by several partners. Most validated courses provide for progression to further study at the University.
A franchised course is one which the University has itself developed and delivers but a partner institution is also authorised to deliver to University students.
An outcentre is a location where the University delivers its own provision off-campus using some of the resources of a partner.
A joint course is one which the University and at least one other institution deliver in partnership. Students spend time studying with the University and also the other partner(s). A list of all current collaborative programmes is available in the Register of Collaborative Courses. In addition, information on our fully online programmes is available at Campus One Information on monitoring of quality assurance and enhancement arrangements at collaborative partnership institutions is available through the Quality Management and Audit Unit website. |
