University of Ulster Chaplaincy Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, non-denominational Christian movement that aims to provide simple, decent and affordable housing for families in need. Families build the houses themselves with the help of volunteers. Since 1976 Habitat has built more than 250,000 houses worldwide, for more than 1 million people in 90 countries. In Northern Ireland, over 70 Habitat projects have brought together more than 10,000 volunteers from all traditions to build alongside families in need. These projects have helped to regenerate communities and restore relationships across West and North Belfast, Omagh and Downpatrick. The University of Ulster Jordanstown Chaplaincy has been involved with international teams and continues to support Habitat here in Northern Ireland. We will take part in a few building days on Belfast building sites during the year. This is a fun way for you to get involved and get to know some other people from campus.
