Criteria and Rules

Criteria

Submitted pieces will be assessed against the following criteria and should:

  • Include reasons for your advice/ choice
  • be sensitive to cultural, contextual and institutional differences (i.e. it should not expose particular individuals or openly criticise an individual department. Ideally you should anonymise any reference to individuals within your submission.)
  • as far as possible, see things from others’ viewpoints and provide potentially perceptive observations and helpful ideas.
  • be interesting and engaging.
  • be pitched at the right level for your target audience and free from spelling and grammar errors.

Rules:

  • Entrants must be currently registered on an undergraduate or taught postgraduate course within the University of Ulster.
  • Only one entry from each student is permitted.
  • Entries must be the original work of the student submitting the entry.

The judges decision is final. The judges reserve the right not to award a prize in a category where submissions do not meet an appropriate standard.

Communication of Results

The successful applicants will be informed by May 11th 2012 and will be invited to the Centre's Festival of Innovative Practice on June 15th 2012 to receive their prizes.

Publicity

Winning entries may be published in appropriate University publications and websites.

Organising Body

This competition is organised by The University of Ulsters Centre for Higher Education Practice. The judging team will include members of the Centre and the Students Union.
