Residential accommodation is available on campus for over 400 students, and the Students' Housing Association (SHAC) provides excellent accommodation nearby. A number of students reside in flats and other lodgings in Coleraine; others live nearby in the resorts of Portrush and Portstewart, where there is a reasonable supply of competitively-priced accommodation in the October-June period. The University leases several houses in these towns and sublets to students. The University also offers some 655 bedplaces in Coleraine, Portrush and Portstewart under a head lease scheme administered by the Accommodation Office. These range from places in houses to purpose-designed accommodation.

The Accommodation Office maintains a regularly-updated list of registered lodgings. If you want to rent a privately-owned furnished flat or house you must make your own arrangements, but you can obtain a rent card from the Accommodation Office or from the Students' Union.
